Has anyone mixed their own Green gas for Airsoft guns.?

I believe they take propane and silicon to do this. Why is Green gas so difficult to find in a store? These airsoft guns aren't nearly as dangerous as a BB gun. They don't even hurt when you get hit with one and they do not break windows like a BB gun. I don't know why they make it difficult to get the gas for them.
