Telescope (Astro photography)?

If you use a dobsonian mount, even if it's driven you will get an effect called field rotation on long exposure photograph. If you're going to do astrophotography a good polar drive (or equatorial mount as it's also called) is essential. You don't necessarily need the telescope part, just the camera and a decent telephoto lens mounted on a aligned polar drive is good enough for beginning astrophotography. Dobs are great for visual astronomy, but aren't really made for photography, polar mounted Ritchey-Chretien telescopes are great for astrophotography but aren't the best for visual astronomy.
