Sony dcr sr 35 hard drive camcorder to Apple Mac?

Does anyone know if the two machines are compatible so that video taken can easily be transferred to Apple Macbook Pro? Does the software need upgrading, do I need new drivers or are there too many issues to enable me to do the transfer? Help with straightforward advice please. Thanks.
