New alloys wont fit my golf estate solutions please?

are they the right stud pattern for your car, obviously if you have brought them new you checked that were the right wheels for your car, so why will they not fit are they too wide and rub out, is it the centre spiggot not going into the wheel properly, if so use spacers,
